The Yoga Room Studio

stretch your body, open your mind, have fun

class description

Since everyone's body is different, every person's abilities will be different. Some poses will be more easy and some can be more difficult for you to do, tell yourself to be patient and to go at your own pace. Success in yoga is not that you do the pose well, it is that you feel the stretch or shape of the pose. Please note that you should feel the stretch in a good way, to go as far into a pose as your range of motion allows. If you start to groan, struggle or stop breathing smoothly, then know  you are trying too hard.

One of my favourite expressions is "yoga is for everyone and everyone can do yoga"....

Yoga can be done by anyone regardless of age, flexibility and physical challenges....athletes rely on yoga to enhance their performance, flexible people use yoga to help add strength and energy to their range of motion, stiff and inflexible people can do yoga to open their hips and create a supple spine to aid their bodies in a more graceful and fluid motion. The young, old and even teens benefit from a regular yoga practice to encourage tired muscles to move better, to increase energy and reduce stress through a non-competitive and fun way of moving their bodies....

The Studio does have on hand for students:

  • yoga mats, for hygiene reasons, please wipe your mat before and after use and if possible bring your own mat for class
  • yoga accessories: blocks, straps, sit upon's, savasana blankets, eye pillows
  • a Yoga Library collection of CD's, DVD's and Yoga inspired books that you are welcome to borrow and use...
